South Africa: Inside the Cycle of Rape (One warden’s work with sex offenders)

Check out the video “South Africa: Inside the Cycle of Rape.” This 11-minute documentary contains the testimonies of perpetrators of rape in a South African prison, and follows them through a rehabilitation process.

The video was shot inside the Maximum Security facility at Pollsmoor Prison located on the outskirts of Cape Town, South Africa.  The process of securing access to film inside the prison took years of negotiation with the South African government and then involved a separate permission process with the prison gangs once inside the prison.
